Safety, plainly
Every call on Haven is recorded and monitored, to keep everyone safe. You agree to it up front when you join; it is a condition of using Haven, not decided call by call. This page explains what that involves, and what we don't promise.
What review actually is
Every call is recorded, and some are reviewed by our team. We look most closely at newer Companions and newer pairings, which is when attention matters most, and we would rather flag too much than miss something. Our review looks for signs of pressure, manipulation, or someone trying to take a conversation off Haven.
Two honest details. Review happens after a call, not during it, and not every call is listened to by a person: review is deliberately weighted where the risk is, rather than spread thin everywhere. And the person on the line is always real; the only technology in the room works quietly in the background, keeping everyone safe.
When something worries us
If a conversation suggests someone is struggling, it does not go unnoticed: our team is alerted and follows up. That follow-up comes after the call, from a real person, and it is follow-up, not rescue.
Because here is the boundary, and we will always be plain about it: Haven is good company, not a doctor, nurse, therapist, or an emergency service. If it is an emergency, contact your doctor or local emergency services.
Anyone can raise a hand
The first thing worth saying is the simplest: you can end a call, at any moment, for any reason or none. There is no minimum, nothing to explain, and no one is told why. Leaving a conversation that is not working is not a complaint or a failure.
After a call we quietly ask how it went, and whether anything felt off. It takes one tap, the Companion never sees your answer, and it is as much for you as for us: the moment right after a call is when something small and hard to name is easiest to say.
Companions can also flag a call for review while it is still happening, without ending the conversation, or raise a concern once it is over. Speaking up never causes trouble for you, on either side of the call.
A flagged call goes to a human reviewer, who looks at what happened and decides what to do. Nothing here is automatic: people are removed by judgment, not by algorithm.
Companions earn trust; they are not just granted it
Every Companion begins on a trial period during which we review their calls closely, and that attention eases only as a steady, kind track record builds. Being a good Companion is something a person keeps earning, call after call, for as long as they are here.
What we don't promise
Review is sampled, so a person does not listen to every call, and it happens after a call, not live. Haven does not offer counselors, clinical care, or a crisis line, because it is companionship, not care. And no service can promise that nothing bad will ever be said on a call. What we do promise: calls are recorded, review is real, and a human being acts on what we find.
